Up until recently, I had no idea the hotel within the movie "Dumb and Dumber" been the Stanley Hotel, which has been also the inspiration and setting for Stephen King's popular book and movie, "The Shining".
Along with giving users the opportunity to see their town in the whole new way, you can also buy movies with the app, plus you are able to send in your personal photo coming from a famous locale where you live.
The interface for Spott is simple to manuever around - it is possible to choose movies or shows by title, location, or movies which are near you. Obviously the nearby feature is the best, particularly when you're traveling or recently moved. As a motion picture and TV fan who happens to love trivia, this is a pretty good app to have in case you've got an Android phone. Definitely the highlight of the app would be to view a range of locations of various film scenes, though I think many people will be interested in where their hometown or current town factors in several movies and shows.
A disappointment is some areas miss, which is often annoying for users who know some movie or show was filmed within their neck from the woods. But to counter this, users can supply images and upload these to Spott. This is actually an incredible social interaction that gets fans involved since they proudly flaunt their cities and states.
I think a major let down could be the fact that this app isn't free; with only a small amount of information, this really should be a free app that gets upgraded to purchase more expenses (like the ability to buy and download movies).
