Cartoon Movies Top 100! Your Thanksgiving free movie list is only two movies long, but what movies! Unlike Halloween (that I offered you a list of 100 free scary movies here), Thanksgiving needs a different twist. Neither is likely to be specific to Thanksgiving, nevertheless they relate to some themes in the holiday. Frankly, I can enjoy these free movies for Thanksgiving or for any day of the year.

Big oil company propaganda using a heart! Just the free movie we require for Thanksgiving! This 78-minute semi-documentary from 1948 is one from the most lyrical American films available. In 1994, The Louisiana Story was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry from the Library of Congress being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant." It is the story of a Cajun boy and his awesome family, living on the bayous you might say of life that we can barely imagine.
The boy's family rents land for the oil company, which comes in, drills, and instead gives off everything exactly like it was, clean and unspoiled with the exception that the family carries a little more money. (Yes, it turned out funded by the Standard Oil Company.)
The boy spends nearly all of his time on his narrow boat (pirogue), floating down the bayous, prime snake and alligator habitat, together with his pet raccoon. He never wears your life preserver or shoes... doesn't also have a cell phone to call in case he gets in danger. There is not much story, merely a celebration (in such stunning black and white photography that you can well wonder what the big deal is about color) of a way of life that is certainly no longer with us.
All from the actors were amateurs, as well as for most, it was their only film. As of April 2007, J.C. A grayscale silent film that ends having a woman being burned alive? Oh, yes, what exactly every family needs at Thanksgiving. But, I have three good reasons for including The Passion of Joan of Arc on this pair of free movies for Thanksgiving.
First, I am thankful that The Passion of Joan of Arc was ever produced. Second, I am thankful that The Passion of Joan of Arc was preserved. The director Carl Theodor Dreyer (more) died believing that the last copy was destroyed. In a little weirdness that sounds much more a movie compared to the truth, a virtually complete print was discovered in 1981 in a very janitor's closet of your Norwegian mental institution.
Finally, I am grateful that we can watch this magnificent film, on many lists from the greatest films in recent history, at no cost online at Gloria.tv, a Roman Catholic video site.
Maria Falconetti (more), who plays Joan, suffered a psychological breakdown in the making of the film, and she or he never made another film.
