It also provides access to Live Spaces gadgets, and you can perform plenty of tricks with Windows Live Messenger.

An important new application from Microsoft is Windows Live Family Safety, vital for anyone with children old enough to access some type of computer. With this software, you are able to control who uses your personal computer and when, which makes it a great method to limit Internet access so that your children can concentrate on their homework. If you're blogger, meanwhile, Windows Live Writer is often a desktop-based blog management application which might be used with WordPress and Blogger accounts (among others) for managing, writing and publishing blogs.

!!! Watch Video Clip Online Free

Watch Video Clip Online Free! As I approach my garage where I can pop the 8-track into my quadraphonic stereo and mellow out to the Mamas and Papas, I say to myself, "I love the digital age."

No, wait.

Skip toward the cassette after which to the CD to the MP3 player, or maybe from the VHS to the DVD for the digital download. Thanks to leaps in technology, as well as in no small part for the Internet, we could now download movies or watch them streaming from a site online. While the music counterpart was quick to ban against MP3 technology, and after that eventually allow it in, the Hollywood system has been cautious, nay leery, of digital technology.

Why that is no one can say for certain. Part of it may be the fight relating to the RIAA and peer-to-peer sites over copyright infringement, that has led on the creation of bit torrent sites for downloading. Part of it might be that downloading hurts any current contracts with DVD distribution companies. And part of it could possibly be mankind's caution with technology. No one of the reasons is greater than the others.

With the proliferation of the peer-to-peer and bit torrent sites, Hollywood was a lot more than compelled to start out offering movies for downloading. Sites like CinemaNow, Movielink, and Vongo have sprouted offering users around 4,000 video/movie titles and also hundreds of TV show episodes. iTunes has joined industry, extending their interests from just music to TV, movies, and music videos.

Back to the question: will digital downloading kill DVD/Blu-ray discs?

"Yes" because:

- Society has become "instant gratification," along with faster Internet ability and movies being able to be compressed towards the size of 1gb, they are going to become simpler to download. And when someone's finished with the movie with out longer wants to keep it on their harddrive, they are able to just delete it.

- Downloading will kill the "need" for packaging. Like the example above, there will be no need to take care of scratched discs or misplaced ones, or creating shelf space to deal with your collection when you can ensure that it stays on your personal computer.

- Downloading will put the current video retailers (Blockbuster, Movie Gallery, Hollywood Video) bankrupt by offering "what's new" to users online as an alternative to making users wait in line in a checkout or brave "weather elements" because they stand outside a youtube video cube.

"No" because:

- Currently, we don't have the electronic infrastructure for it. This means that if EVERY person inside the U.S. logged onto download a motion picture, the Internet would HALT. While this can be a worst-case scenario, it reveals the point that so that you can offer more movies to more and more people, networks have to be changed/ rearranged, and we aren't currently seeing as happening.

- It would be extremely difficult (at least in the current standpoint) to offer the more than 21,000 films that have been made online. Each week several movies are available on disc, with just a fraction available on the web. We would first have to give everything current before tackling the insurmountable-looking back catalog.

- Believe it or not, some people want the opportunity to hold videos in their hands, packaging and all. They don't worry about shelf space or depreciating value; it's to be able to look for it (like a book) and pop it into the DVD player after they want, instead of having to traverse a computer which they don't like having.

- There is no clear platform for downloaded movies. Some in the services work with a browser, and some use the application developed by the company.

- Digital rights management. The above mentioned download sites have their "special" strategies to displaying the movie you downloaded. Eventually, movie downloading and watching will need to go cross-platform, which means the above companies will need to agree on one format to use so that you can show the films. That will also make the movies "easier" to pirate and transport.

- With all the viruses seen, along with "inclement weather," what happens when your computer DIES? The motherboard fries, the harddrive locks up, etc. If your collection isn't burned onto disc, you are in trouble...

In closing, my belief is that digital downloading, while it's an interesting addition to movie watching, has a ways to go before it's going to get to the point it needs to be. That sufficient reason for the proven fact that computers aren't 100% reliable, I do not believe video discs are leaving all that soon.
