Here we list among the better plugins for Firefox which will improve your productivity, enhance your browsing, and customize your interface. Read on to supercharge your browser!
Among other pursuits, I run various websites, and I have used various FTP programs through the years only to abandon them given that they became bulky or buggy. Then I was rescued with this little add-on. FireFTP is lightweight, non-intrusive, and does what it really is supposed to do: provide you with an FTP client with your browser. The interface is intuitive and clean, adding functionality without acquiring it the way of normal browsing. You just choose the add-on from your menu along with a tab opens, providing you a standard FTP interface with two directory panes. The account manager is not hard to work with and since the whole thing shares its connections with Firefox it never seems to cause uploading or downloading errors, unlike a number of other FTP clients I have caused. While it will not be as full-featured as a lot of people might want their FTP client to be, the convenience and performance factors a lot more than make up for it.
Sxipper may be the autofill manager to rule every one of them, enabling you to create various profiles which store names, usernames, passwords, and every other little bit of information you end up entering into sites constantly. The method Sxipper purposes of this is rather ingenious, because the add-on is trainable as well as the network of users are its trainers, allowing new forms, login screens, along with other annoying fields to get added since the extension is used all in the world. Trainers are ranked, and therefore people who train forms poorly will forfeit the ability to keep training.
While it's really a bit intrusive from time to time, which is mostly if it is trying to learn a new form or perhaps is confused over non-standard inputs. When you install the plug-in, it imports your saved data from Firefox and populates an account for you, that you can then fill in manually to provide anything else you need to keep stored. From then on, each and every time there is a form or login screen, Sxipper will show up and provide you with various options. This makes filling out profiles for brand spanking new accounts on websites online simple and easy because you simply click once, make sure everything is done correctly, and hit submit.
Sxipper can learn almost any field, but it sometimes does get confused. Sites designed to use frames and load multiple pages with forms is likely to make the add-on freak out, wanting to put up multiple profiles simultaneously. Thankfully, you can simply click the little "x" to dismiss it also it calms down.
Often the world wide web is about multitasking, and through the years the browser developers have added tabs and window managers to cater to this need. However, this may lead to keeping tabs and windows open simply because you would like to read them later. Taboo is an add-on that wrangles your tabs and prevents you against having 50 tabs open.
The interface is not hard. Two buttons show up on your toolbar, someone to save a tab and the other to take up a webpage of screenshots from the tabs you have saved. You can also us a drop-down tab to load saved tabs in the present tab by name. The add-on functions taking a screenshot of the tab you're viewing and saving the knowledge using Firefox's built-in session manager to help you return when you want. This add-on is designed for newshounds and blog-readers, helping you to save what you need to read without cluttering your browser or your bookmarks.
I am no fan of Internet Explorer, but sometimes you need to simply use it. Some sites don't work properly with out them, some services for watching movies online demand it, and if you happen to be a webmaster you need to make certain your site is compatible. Thankfully for the people of us who live in Firefox, IE Tab relates to the rescue.
Rather than digging through your start menu to locate a browser you won't ever use and copying in the URL of the page you were wanting to view, IE Tab sits with your status bar like a tiny Firefox icon. When you would like to switch to IE, all you've to do is click on the button and also the tab you are viewing reloads, rendered perfectly. Right-clicking around the button gives you the option of setting certain domains and pages to always load in a engine or any other, providing you with absolute control of what browser you might be in without ever having to leave Firefox. The add-on works perfectly with Windows Update and Office Update, and loads all IE plug-ins, cookies, and saved user information for both browsers. Unfortunately, your add-ons from Firefox won't work with pages rendered in IE, but this really is a small price to pay for universal browsing in the comfort of Firefox.
The modern internet is stuffed with content, and all of that content needs bandwidth to get to you. Unfortunately, should your bandwidth is bound that means other applications and users on the network may get lagged out by simply normal browsing and downloading. Firefox Throttle enables you to set a restriction on Firefox in order that browsing doesn't interfere with other items.
The interface sits with your status bar and shows just how much bandwidth, both up and downstream, is currently being used. Right-clicking provides you with a menu that allows you to set your throttle. Options accommodate controlling both up and downstream throttles, excluding certain websites and IP addresses from throttling, and statistics for keeping track of your bandwidth use.
While these add-ons are all working on my Firefox installation, remember that every software environment differs from the others and that any add-on might cause problems. Install extensions one by one, checking to make sure everything works properly whenever, and pay attention to any strange alterations in browser behaviour.
