Comedy Movie About A Restaurant! When one considers making a film, huge amount of money are needed to accomplish this endeavor. Even when someone considers a micro budget movie, approximately $100,000 continues to be needed to finish this. However, you will find there's way to come up with a film for no money. You just need an agenda and a solid band of friends.
Making a movie doesn't require vast amounts or even thousands. For beside nothing, you can come up with a movie, although first thing you must do is resign yourself to the very fact you will have no major name actors within your movie to assist sell it. It is also vital that you understand that you shoot your movie, because some states make it impossible to come up with a movie without a lot of money (for example California). There are a number of shortcuts you can test to make sure to not only shoot your movie free of charge but also finish it and get it seen.
The initial thing you must secure to shoot a no-budget movie is equipment. If you are just starting out, that will need finding somebody who owns equipment that one could bring aboard to help you help make your movie. On my first video footage, we found someone at my school who owned a nice camera (Canon XL-1) and offered him the chance to be our director of photography. I needed lights, so I found someone I had met in the local film scene and offered him the opportunity to be a production adviser and, because of this, he brought his lights for all of us to use. By offering people the opportunity to take active roles inside our movies, they produced the gear we needed for free.
A few years later, I was able to purchase my own camera and lights and, while it was an up front expenditure, it meant all movies shot after this could be my possibility of making no-budget films whenever I wanted. What made this great is the fact that I could hire whoever I wanted from this level on because I was not relying on using other people's equipment.
When shooting a feature length movie, this is possible. While the movie had not been a no-budget film, someone I know shot a show for $85,000 which gave them little money for anything special on the shoot. However, they met someone during the past and they called him to see if he was enthusiastic about being the director of photography for his or her movie. He asked what kind of camera they wished to shoot with plus they joked that they would love to make use of the Red digital video camera. They knew there was clearly little possibility of using this camera thanks to its $25,000-plus cost. However, it so happened the director of photography were built with a friend who owned a Red and, by hiring his friend being an assistant, that they access to a Red for free and were able to shoot their movie with similar camera David Fincher used in "The Social Network." The moral for this story is it helps to network plus it never hurts to inquire about others for help.
The next step to produce no-budget films is finding your cast. This is actually the easiest section of the process. There are hundreds, maybe thousands, of actors and actresses trying to find work. First, you cannot get a SAG actor or anyone through the television world to be within your film. Their union membership necessitates that you receive permission to cast them inside your movie and there's a minimum wage you have to pay them, even with a micro-budget film, that will keep some budget minded independent filmmakers from making their movies. You also be forced to pay the other actors within the movie in case you have one SAG member at the same time.
This means you'll want to look in other places to your talent. First, check local schools. Most schools have story boards in their acting department with open casting calls. Find a local actor through providing a casting call through fliers in schools, book stores, coffee houses plus more. Plaster your casting call fliers everywhere and hope for your best. Make sure you are clear for the casting call that you are making no-budget films and there is only credit to become offered. It is also possible to list casting calls online, through sites for actors and local filmmakers as well as on classified sites like Craigslist.
When you will find the casting call, ensure that you cast the correct people to the roles and also beware of attitudes that could arise. The last thing a no-budget filmmaker needs on set is somebody who thinks they may be bigger than the project. An actor might have success in television commercials or stage plays but, whenever they come in with the attitude problem, they will cause your production to crash down near you.
Make sure every actor signs a contract to stay in the movie so no person will come back later and attempt to sue you because of their appearance.
The final thing you should think about is that you shoot your movie. If you shoot in the state like California or New York, you will have to apply for permits which can run you money. Also, in states like California, most locations will expect one to pay for the proper to shoot there. However, should you shoot in locations like Oklahoma or smaller states, it is often easy to find locations allowing that you shoot there at no cost as long as you show the organization in a positive light. Also, in Oklahoma there's no need to get permits to shoot anywhere that is public property. With those restrictions lifted, the last step to make no-budget films is out of the way.
